Luxury Residential

A refined, contemporary sensibility defines this Brookwater residence, where strong architectural lines and layered material contrasts shape a home grounded in clarity and cohesion. The design balances sculptural form with warm interior detailing, unfolding through light-filled spaces that connect seamlessly to the surrounding landscape.

The architecture balances solidity and transparency through a refined material dialogue. Externally, crisp white cladding contrasts with expansive glazing and grounded stone elements, embedding the home into its sloping landscape. Internally, a restrained palette of natural stone, dark timber, and soft neutrals unifies the open-plan living zones. A sculptural stair and vertical screening introduce rhythm and depth, while generous glazing strengthens the connection between interior spaces and the terraced garden beyond.

T

he floating staircase forms a sculptural centrepiece within the home.

Black steel treads appear suspended above a solid terrazzo plinth, while full-height glazing and vertical battens filter light across the textured stone wall behind. Integrated step lighting enhances both safety and atmosphere. This composition transforms circulation into an architectural feature, reinforcing the project’s balance of structure, transparency, and refined material contrast.

This Brookwater residence explores the relationship between strong architectural form and refined interior restraint. Rather than relying on excess, the design is guided by proportion, material contrast, and spatial clarity, allowing each element to contribute to a cohesive whole. Crisp white cladding and expansive glazing define the exterior, while stone retaining walls anchor the home into its landscaped terrain.

Internally, a consistent palette of dark timber, marble, and large-format tiles establishes continuity across living, kitchen, and circulation spaces. The sculptural staircase and vertical screen introduce layered depth, creating moments of privacy without interrupting openness. Generous glazing invites natural light throughout, strengthening the connection between indoor living areas and the terraced outdoor entertaining zones.

The project succeeds through compositional balance. From the spa-like bathroom to the refined kitchen joinery and outdoor amenities, each space feels deliberately resolved and intrinsically linked. The result is a contemporary residence that prioritises longevity, comfort, and architectural clarity within its hillside setting.
